Re-Align YourSELF
You can’t always choose what happens to you but you can always choose how you feel about it.!
Re-align yourself by trying to prioritise sleep, exercise (you choose… walking, barre, pilates, yoga), spending time with friends (who are supportive) and family who make you feel amazing AND eating good food that will nourish your body…and soul.
These things may seem simple and obvious but they will allow you to take care of YOU while things feel shaky or frightening.
Practicing different forms of exercise; my Body Barre class, running for lifting weights and yoga is quite literally my sanity! Also spending as much time as possible with my son Jesse, repeating my mantras/affirmations (check out my Instagram @barrebodyriviera I love them!) or a short meditation (can be 3 minutes) every morning and writing in my journal (piece of paper) helps me feel safe, secure and able to live my best life.
Remember exercise stimulates your pituitary gland and hypothalamus to release endorphins, which in turn provides you with that wonderful feeling of happiness. It keeps your blood flowing, gives you that glow and keeps your energy high long afterward.
A Safe Space for YOU
Essential oils, candles, long baths with Epsom salts are all wonderful to help to ease stress, soothe, comfort and relax/calm the mind. Candles look so pretty in the evening and can bring a sense of relaxation, aromatherapy, and love to your space however big or small that might be. Look for soy or coconut-based candles with clean-burning wicks.
Mad about Coconut Oil
As well as great for cooking coconut oil adds a little sweetness to the dish and is full of monounsaturated good for-you-fats.
I also use it at night as a natural moisturiser on my body (just a little bit goes a long way) to help dryness especially during the Winter and is a fantastic make-up remover. The fatty acids in coconut oil also work as an anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial natural beauty product. It’s a natural way to stay healthy, gorgeous and just feel good.
What natural beauty products do you recommend I try? Would love to hear from you. I turned fifty-one this year and am using more and more natural products on my face and body. Coconut oil is my absolute wonder beauty product.
Beauty Tip: I use a dab on my make brush and apply to my cheeks for an extra healthy, gorgeous glow.
Mood for Matcha
I’ve managed to cut down on coffee a lot by drinking more matcha tea. Which I just love! A beautiful deep green colour that reminds me of where I grew up. High in antioxidants, matcha boosts metabolism, detoxifies the body and just feels very calming. You can add matcha to your smoothies or drink as a latte during the day. I
Beauty Tip: I mix mine with a scoop of collagen peptides powder that dissolves perfectly and supports joints, bones and gives you that extra gorgeous glow.
